Yesterday morning we enjoyed old friends visiting from New Jersey. Later we went leaf peeping, a venerable Berkshire custom on a sunny Sunday afternoon.Along the back roads and past farms we found much color, which seems perhaps near peak in the wet valleys and about 50 percent in the hills, but not yet to the tops. The peak may be Columbus Day, a traditional peeping day hereabouts.
After dinner with the grand kids and family, we tooled on home under October's Hunter's Moon, which rose over our hills as white and round and big as, well, a full moon is.
