Some memories come back hard when sorting through old photos taken by a sibling whose out-of-focus efforts nevertheless evoke. These two similar photos, the first of my younger sister and I receiving navigational instructions in incomprehensible Italian while our father grinned back in 1957, and the second of my wife and daughter in 1979, help lend continuity to life's navigators, should they be but gleefully pressing on the tandem pedals of
Lago Lugano's pedalos. I have no guess as to why the steering is on the wrong side, or why the lakefront no longer sports pedalos.
