Fuzzy and Wuzzy, or FuzzyWuzzy

While cleaning up spring storm damage a few decades ago, we cut through a hollow branch and found two hairless squirrel babies suddenly homeless. Carried home to MLH, she immediately adopted them, naming them, despite their nakedness, Fuzzy and Wuzzy.
They responded to her attentions, even as they soon grew out of their little box and began energetically exploring the house, from top to bottom. One of their delights soon became a chase along the bookshelves, and then behind the books, creating a paper waterfall. We quickly constructed a tall cage to house them until spring release.
But even after spring and into summer, these two squirrels hung around the house and its trees. For a bit, MLH could walk out with a bag of peanuts and just call their names, with this result. We don't know if this one is Fuzzy or Wuzzy, but they both came every time.
One late summer day, they came by and dug up all their buried peanuts and headed out for the tall woods further up the hill. We think we saw them a few times after that, but soon came to the conclusion that squirrels very decisively become independent and that they bury nuts without instruction.
