Fall Colors

We live in a part of the world with four distinct seasons, each with its own charm and character. Just about the time that we settle into one, the next begins, often with spectacular effect.
Over the past week or so we have been treated to an unusually rich palette of reds, oranges, and yellows among lingering greens. A single maple can provide them all at once, or a single leaf may grade from crimson edge through red to orange to a yellow middle veined with green.
This fall we all agree has provided one of the more notable effects in recent years.
