As young adults we wended down life's diverse lanes attempting many things, with many friends, over many moments, some of which fostered lasting associations. Clearing land, helping build homes, in time officiating at another generation's ties and ambitions, created strong memories and relationships.Revisiting one of memory's lanes, we remember perhaps more than 30 years ago, with chainsaw in hand, commuting the death sentence of this venerable white oak over topped and crowded by taller pines and hemlocks being felled to make way for a young family's homestead.
Over ensuing decades the oak, gardens, orchard, and horse barn have provided a comfortable setting and lifestyle for the family and for many return visits to their New England home. We are thankful for these many pleasant memories and continuing friendship.
