This morning about 0730 hours the last named moon of the year was setting in the west-northwest. Tonight about 1700 hours The Long Nights Moon will rise north of east and cruise high in the night sky, opposite the sun far below the equator. For those with clear skies, this full moon should be spectacular viewing, with a bright Mars in opposition about two fingers higher still.
