Honeybees

As we have commented several times below, common honeybees have been widely reported to be in decline for unknown reasons. However, we see a large variety of pollinators in their stead, and believe that a diminished honeybee population does not represent a significant problem for food crops dependent upon insect pollination. We have no information about past and recent honey production, but note that honey may not be as important as it was before today's wide variety of abundant sweeteners on supermarket shelves.
Moreover, while taking this photograph, I could not help but notice that the blossoming sedum heads had more honeybees than other pollinators visiting them.
