For perhaps a century, the residents of Fort Bragg, California, dumped their adult beverage bottles into the Pacific Ocean over a convenient cliff. An occasional car, or bus, or sundry also went in, to be ground to unrecognizable bits by the incessant Pacific. The knowledgeable tourist today can descend the coastal cliffs to specific beaches of tumbled glass, stainless wire, chrome plate, and sundry, where collectors sift the silicon searching for that particular color or pattern or remnant of bygone days.
