Overcast days, by reducing contrast, offer some of the best times for close photography of common field flowers, such as this subtly colored morning glory twining itself into byway brush. One of the fun exercises I enjoy (as also posted below) is to wander nearby farm fields and dirt roads looking over, under, and through the obvious for the occasional solitaire photo opportunity of the day. I am almost always rewarded with an addition or two for my portfolio of hi-res digital photographs.
