Cold Front

Following several days and nights of summer heat and humidity dragged up from the Appalachians by summer's traditional Atlantic Bermuda high, overnight a Canadian air mass has pushed it all out to sea and brought more than an inch and a half of rain and much lower temperatures and humidity. Today the air has that sharp clarity of an early fall day, a perfect opportunity for a photo of another of MLH's perfect lilies.

From now through early November, especially from Boston and north, New Englanders will notice the loss of some minutes of daylight each day, as the sun's apparent noon zenith begins a rapid move south.
