This morning's ramble took us down along the Connecticut/Massachusetts border, between the Twin Lakes and back. Along the way, we noticed much beaver activity as dams in Schnob Brook. At breakfast in Egremont we sat next to four deer hunters in their orange suits. From their accents, we judged that they were from the Boston area. Listening to their conversation, we learned that they had been coming out to this area since 1965 to hunt deer on state property. When we left, we wished them good hunting.
On our way back to the cottage from the lakes, we drove through Canaan, Connecticut, where we encountered four deer crossing main street, where no hunting is allowed.
