Today's visit to the heron's beaver pond shows still bigger and stronger chicks. With its usual announcing croak the parent soared in and landed on the nest, only to have its bill seized by the chick on the right. With its beak trapped, the parent could not empty its crop into the nest and so drew back, frustrating the chicks. This complication repeated several times, the large chick actually wrestling with the parent's bill to force it to present lunch. After some bobbing and weaving, the deliver was made, and the parent turned and dropped away to leave the chicks to tussle over their mess of lunch.

Today's visit to the heron's beaver pond shows still bigger and stronger chicks. With its usual announcing croak the parent soared in and landed on the nest, only to have its bill seized by the chick on the right.
