Mr. Fox

As suggested below in our Rabbit Hole post, bunnies and foxes don't play well together. Our bunnies seemed to survive their rapid development in a shallow, well hidden hole between the roots of a large pine. We are unable to attest, however, that they have survived the constant hunting of this red fox, who every day passes that big pine as it stalks among the nursery evergreens, peering and sniffing under each one for the scent of a mouse, or ...
Perhaps this fox has a den in an old drain pipe under a nearby abandoned trolley track, and in that den several kits in need of regular feeding. Perhaps they have dined on more than mouse?
