We like the evening scent of stock, so M has one bunch on the deck by the screen slide-by and another in the wall garden not far from our bedroom window so that an evening breeze from either direction will waft the spicy scent into our dreams. Mid-morning, while watering the stock in the wall garden, I heard a tree frog peeping nearby, but couldn't place it. Also, the common sound had a strange hollowness to it. Looking toward the sound I spotted an ancient conch shell that M had placed up on our big roadside limestone rock.Could the frog be inside the conch? Well, almost. Lifting the shell showed the one-inch gray tree frog on the rock and taking the same color as the rock. No doubt the sensible little guy was using the conch to project his romantic intentions further afield.
