Berkshire's vernal pools and lush meadow grasses provide everything needed for Canada geese to raise their young, who under close guard eat their own weight in grasses and grass grains each day. Even as this family meandered away from our camera, the goslings continued to strip the seed heads from each grass plant they passed.
