Lawn Buttercups

While mowing the lawn yesterday we spared these fresh buttercups, now the only flower on the lawn. Little will bother them, because they are poisonous to cattle, horses, woodchucks, and rabbits, who avoid the acrid taste and mouth blisters caused by buttercup poison. Even a child performing the summer right of holding a buttercup under another child's chin to see if they like butter can get dermatitis should that child handle many plants. Best to leave them be, and just enjoy their spring beauty.
