In post "Near Salzburg - 1979" below, we showed a picture of this castle on a Austrian lake, but couldn't remember where it was. Thanks to Google Earth, we found it six kilometers south of Salzburg Castle, in the community of Anif, where it is known as Castle Anif, or Lake Castle Anif. Dating from 1530 or so, it is a private home and has appeared in both "The Sound of Music" and "The Odessa File."
In that earlier post I used it as perhaps THE example of the perfect house on a lake. We have not changed our perception.
