Alpine Fauna and Flora

Walking Alpine trails at a measured pace permits time to spot sundry small fauna sunning on warm rocks. M had leaned toward this rock wall to smell some flowers when she recoiled and pointed out this green 8-inch lizard.
A more common bronze lizard darts among rocks in search of dinner. We found them more in the warmer climate of Lake Lugano.
While driving the last leg of the road up over the San Bernadino pass, we paused to look at an abundance of Apine flora. M easily gathered a handful for closer inspection.
