Over by the salad farm, the seasonally low sun angle shining through alto cirrus ice clouds provided refracted sun dogs, or the bending of sunlight into colors by ice crystals.
As we stood in the shade of a large cherry tree, the moving clouds provided a dance of sun dogs.
At one point, the growing high cloud provided a colorful spot almost as bright as the sun off stage to the left.
At the far end of our walk we spotted mute swans on Mill Pond and attempted to creep up on them.
On our way back to the cottage a shrub we have never seen before attracted our camera. Can anyone ID this for us?

I believe that is euonymus atropurpurea, also known as the Eastern Wahoo. Somewhat better behaved that its cousin, euonymus alata, which is a problematic invasive, despite its fame as the "Burning Bush."
