Chipping Sparrow

The chipping sparrow, one of the rusty-capped sparrows, builds a nest in dense foliage. Made largely of grasses, the nest holds three or four blue eggs mottled with brown. On the southern side of the cottage one nest with three eggs hides in the top of an arborvitae, while on the north side another nest in another arborvitae holds four eggs.
As I peered into the foliage this sparrow chipped strenuously at me, hoping that I already had had my breakfast of eggs.
