While in Florida, we visited several parks and conservatories, which delighted us with diverse cypress forest flora and fauna ranging from this six-inch lizard to his much-larger `gator cousin surrounded by diverse forest and swamp birds. While slowly walking the elevated boardwalk, we scattered several lizards from various crannies and perches. This one was signaling to another, with flashes of his throat bib, which seemed to snap in and out on a bone raised to his chin from his chest. Not knowing lizard talk, we cannot opine as to his intentions. Luck alone provided the instant that his colorful signal and our camera shutter clicked.
